Cover Shot!

I was so excited to find out that the Brentwood Press {a local paper} wanted to use a wedding photo from one of my weddings for the Cover Shot of there summer Wedding Planner issue! I've been working with them for a couple of weeks on what photo would work best for the look and printing needs they had and finally this past week, they picked the final photo and it was printed Friday!! The photo was taken of Jesse and Miranda last year. The only unfortunate thing was the publisher forgot to give me credit for the photo! I don't know why i was surprised... its just my luck. But i think it looks good and I think as a result of being on the cover i might get a profile in the paper in an up coming issue! So stay tuned for that. It so awesome to see my little dream of being a photographer come to life. Each year things just get better and better!
I can't wait to see what the future holds...

Wow. That is great Jackie! I had no idea. That is typical that you didn't get credit.... all in due time. Things are progressing well for you. I just referred you to Jacob and Jodi for family pictures.

you should insist on receiving credit for the picture. they are legally liable and you have rights... you need to make sure that they cover you in an upcoming issue for the picture AND you should be paid for any and all works moving forward. your picture is selling their magazine- don't forget that. think like a business woman or I will have to fly out there with my MBA and manage your busines... this is killing me! You need to work a deal for the "free" advertising for the photo with you being showcased in an upcoming magazine. Don't forget how important your art is, and that they sought you out.
